yoga.
At The Lotus Academy, we see yoga as more than just stretching or a workout—it’s a practice of connection, awareness, and balance.
In a world that often pulls us outward and into overdrive, yoga invites us to slow down, come home to the body, and listen.
Yoga is an ancient practice that combines movement, breath, and stillness to support both physical and emotional well-being. Classes may include gentle flows, longer-held poses, breathing techniques (pranayama), and guided rest or meditation. It’s about being present, not perfect.
We offer classes that are accessible to all levels—whether you're looking to complement your martial arts training, relieve stress, improve flexibility, or simply reconnect with yourself.
Yoga is a powerful counterpart to martial arts training. While martial arts activates strength, speed, and structure, yoga helps create space for stillness, softness, and internal rest.
Together, they form a balanced path to wellness—inside and out.
Wellness at The Lotus Academy goes beyond weekly classes. Each month, we offer a variety of nourishing events and workshops—from Tai Chi and Moon Yoga to sound baths, meditations, and more. These gatherings are designed to support deep restoration, self-discovery, and connection in community.

tai chi
Tai Chi is a gentle yet powerful practice that brings the body and mind into harmony through slow, intentional movement and breath.
Traditional Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese practice that combines slow, deliberate movements with deep breathing and meditation, originating as a martial art but now primarily practiced for its health benefits. It focuses on cultivating internal energy, or qi, through coordinated body postures and mindful breathing; it is often described as "meditation in motion." This gentle form of exercise can help maintain strength, flexibility, and balance. Research suggests it can improve cardiovascular fitness, lower blood pressure, prevent falls and help people who have arthritis.
At The Lotus Academy, we offer a monthly Tai Chi Flow workshop led by Jahan Marcu, PhD, a certified TaijiFit instructor and lifelong martial artist. Each session is designed to be accessible and enjoyable for all experience levels—whether you're brand new or looking to deepen your connection to the practice.
